This role involves providing clinical oversight and driving transformation in women’s health care, focusing on population and community aspects, in line with the Women’s Health Strategy launched in July 2022. The post supports the delivery of policy commitments, working closely with internal NHS England teams and external partners at various levels.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Engage with and provide leadership and expertise to the Women’s Health Deputy Director and National Clinical Director.
  • Support the delivery of the Women’s Health programme through clinical oversight.
  • Focus on population health and community pathways for women, collaborating with relevant teams and stakeholders.
  • Provide clinical advice to support commissioning, transformation, and strategic priorities.
  • Support senior leaders and ensure alignment with national policies and strategies.
  • Be a knowledge resource on scientific advances, digital healthcare, innovation, and health inequalities.
  • Assist policy and strategy teams with horizon scanning and designing interventions and resources.

The role aligns with NHS England’s top-level purpose to improve health outcomes, reduce inequalities, and deliver high-quality services for all. The post requires approximately 40% in-person work, with details on onboarding via Electronic Staff Record system (ESR).
