Overview
In this Clinical Informatics Specialist role, you will join a varied team of clinicians from different professions, working on products and services across NHS England\βs Transformation Directorate. The post holder will work as part of a team delivering specialist clinical informatics support and clinical assurance across the suite of digital products, services and health information in the NHS.UK portfolio. You will help shape the safe delivery of national programmes to benefit citizens and patients, and support clinicians to provide better care. Our Clinical Informatics Specialists provide the framework and direction for Clinical Informaticians working across programmes and involved in large-scale change, and contribute a clinical voice to programme teams within the Transformation Directorate.
You will have regular contact with internal and external stakeholders, engaging with sensitive, complex and contentious issues. You will lead and support other clinicians across the organisation, ensuring programmes and services have access to appropriate clinical support and are represented in externally facing Programme Boards, Clinical Reference Panels or Clinical Advisory Groups. You will join a multi-professional team of experienced clinicians with diverse clinical backgrounds, united by the informatics as a specialist area of expertise. The role supports the safe and effective use of technology across health and social care services for the benefit of patients and citizens.

Responsibilities
- Provide specialist clinical informatics support and clinical assurance across NHS.UK portfolio products and services.
- Shape safe delivery of national programmes and support clinicians to provide better care.
- Provide framework and direction for Clinical Informaticians across programmes and contribute a clinical voice to Transformation Directorate teams.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders on sensitive and complex issues; lead and support clinicians to ensure clinical support is available and represented in Programme Boards, Clinical Reference Panels or Clinical Advisory Groups.
- Join a multi-professional team of clinicians, focusing on informatics as a core area of expertise and supporting the safe use of technology in health and social care.
Qualifications
- Registered and regulated health or care professional with high-level specialist knowledge.
- Trained Clinical Safety Officers (CSOs).
- Roles can be appointed to agenda for change or medical and dental depending on experience and membership of the relevant professional body.
- Regular interaction with stakeholders and ability to navigate sensitive, complex issues; lead and support other clinicians across the organisation.
