Overview

Associate Deans (AD) will work with the Primary Care Dean to ensure all functions align with the NHS England mandate, focusing on improving patient and learner safety and experience and ensuring effective educational outcomes. The role involves working across the spectrum of health and social care within teams to provide education that reflects changing service models. The postholder will work closely with colleagues to develop and improve Placements and Quality across Thames Valley and Wessex Primary Care Learning Environments. They are expected to have significant experience of clinical and educational leadership and a track record of delivery in education and service.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Primary Care Dean to ensure all functions align with the NHS England mandate, focusing on improving patient and learner safety and experience and ensuring effective educational outcomes.
  • Work across the spectrum of health and social care within the context of teams to provide education that reflects changing service models.
  • Focus on quality and expansion of learning environments across Thames Valley and Wessex (TVW). Work with the NHS England Quality Framework involving Quality Teams and support the Primary Care School.
  • Support Placements and Quality across Thames Valley and Wessex Primary Care Learning Environments.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership with the ability to influence and motivate others in a politically sensitive environment.
  • Understand healthcare/multi-professional workforce matters and experience of working with learners in an educational context.
  • Support NHS to deliver high-quality services for patients and best value for taxpayers.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Significant experience of clinical and educational leadership and a track record of delivery in education and service.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate in a politically sensitive environment.
  • Understanding of healthcare/multi-professional workforce matters and experience of working with learners in an educational context.
  • Experience across hundreds of specialisms including clinical, operational, commissioning, technology, data science, cyber security, software engineering, education, and related areas is beneficial.

The postholder will be expected to participate in any required onboarding processes.
