Overview
These roles are critical to our future success and to saving and improving lives. You will play a vital part in engaging communities, using your communication, marketing, and outreach skills to encourage members of the public to become blood donors. A key aspect of the role is coordinating and delivering community engagement activities to ensure we have the right volume and mix of donors to meet patients needs today and in the future. You will also contribute to national campaigns, adapting and implementing them across your region. We have multiple opportunities available across London, with a base at our Tooting Centre. This is a dynamic, mobile role that involves travel, so flexibility is essential. Occasional weekend and Bank Holiday work may be required. While hybrid working is available, attendance at community events is a core part of the role You may be required to work a variety of working patterns dependant on the type of event, which would include working at, weekends and on, In this role, you will be supporting the delivery of the community engagement strategy within the donor experience directorate.
Responsibilities
- Co-ordinating the delivery of regional engagement to ensure success and that we have the right volume and mix of donors to meet patients needs today and in the future.
- Developing a local plan of activity to help meet the organisation\’s aims and objectives.
- Focussing on coordinating and delivering local activities that promote the registration and donation of RO blood, with a focus on high Black Heritage populated areas.
- Considering how the role can raise awareness and deliver against organ, plasma, stem cell and bone marrow donors where appropriate.
- Proactively approaching local community groups/partners, event leaders, businesses and Community Grants Programme NHSBT funded projects, as agreed with line manager and within the strategic plan to meet organisational objectives.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure that contact with partners and stakeholders is managed consistently and effectively.
- Working closely with the marketing campaigns team to ensure that opportunities for campaign activity identified through partnerships are effectively progressed.
- Willingness and ability to travel, spend time away from base, and work weekends or bank holidays as required.
