Job Summary

As a Senior Business Solutions Analyst at NHSBT, you will deliver expert business analysis to help define and deliver the changes to our services, processes and digital solutions that will realise our ambitious Donor and Session Programme (DASP).

You\’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary team in the programme transformation of business and user experience and strong experience of stakeholder management and leading the business analysis approach is essential. You will be responsible for wider business analysis activity which could include the management or support of internal and external business analysts, and previous experience of this is preferred. The job involves several simultaneous projects each with their own deliverables and time-frames. Day-to-day, you’ll have the ability to manage own workload and also liaise with colleagues to manage the team workload to meet these time-frames and renegotiate them where necessary before referring to your manager for support and guidance whenever needed.

The post requires autonomy and initiative, as most project teams are remote and virtual, so this post suits those who are confident in their abilities, happy to ask for guidance when necessary and relish the opportunity to take ownership of their deliverables.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities

  • Aligning project and programme digital solution options with the NHSBT strategic and architecture direction and communicating them effectively with external and internal stakeholders
  • Providing leadership and line management to the Business Solutions Analysts and Business Analyst where required
  • Preparing accurate and detailed requirement specifications documents, business process maps, user interface guides, and functional specifications as well as developing and maintaining standards, policies and guidelines
  • Providing governance to solutions development both internal and external through lifecycle of NHSBT systems to ensure business needs are met
  • Coordinating cross functional groups of business units to validate, evaluate new business processes and functions, and determine issues in services and software
  • Undertaking research and development to ensure best fit of the digital solutions to NHSBT’s corporate business requirements
  • Designing business processes and workflows that deliver industry leading performance and having responsibility for business process assurance
  • Compliance and quality management in line with regulatory requirements that govern NHSBTs businesses

You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.

About You

Experience and Knowledge

  • In-depth understanding of current state and good practice of business process management
  • Significant experience of process mapping and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Significant experience of best practice methods for eliciting and managing requirements
  • Good understanding of the principles associated with the development and introduction of new and novel systems and processes
  • Significant experience of digital strategic planning and successful management of large-scale change
  • Significant experience of digital business process management to support significant business change and development across a range of different business models e.g. manufacturing, health, clinical, customer service, logistics

Qualifications And Training

  • Educated to master’s level or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD)
