Exciting Opportunity to join the Mental Health Inpatients Team at Stobhill Hospital
We are seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, empathetic and skilled individual with proven leadership skills to join our team on in one of our Mental Health Inpatient Wards based within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team providing high-quality care for adults experiencing acute mental health difficulties.
The shift pattern for this position is 4 days over 7, including weekends, night shifts, and public holidays.
About Stobhill
Stobhill Hospital provides specialist inpatient mental health care for adults requiring a psychiatric treatment and support. We cover the numerous catchment areas within the North of Glasgow. We focus on person-centred, trauma-informed care, working collaboratively with patients, carers, and families. We aim to support recovery, promote independence, and ensure safe, therapeutic care in a supportive and respectful environment.
You will be working alongside a multidisciplinary team including nurses, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, activity coordinators, resident medical staff, pharmacy, and social work colleagues, ensuring a truly holistic approach to care.

Who we are looking for – Senior Charge Nurse (Band 7)
Role
We are seeking an experienced and confident Senior Charge Nurse to join our team. This role is pivotal in providing clinical leadership, ensuring safe and effective care, and supporting the ongoing development of the multidisciplinary team. Ideal candidates will have:
- Proven leadership experience within adult mental health inpatient settings, with the ability to coordinate and oversee clinical care delivery across the ward.
- A strong understanding of holistic, trauma-informed, and recovery-focused care, with a commitment to embedding these principles into everyday practice.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead by example, support junior staff, and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and carers.
- A passion for clinical excellence, governance, and continuous improvement, ensuring that high standards of care and professional practice are consistently upheld.
