PAEDIATRIC MUSCULOSKELETAL

FIXED TERM/SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR 9 MONTHS – 35 hours per week.

We have an exciting opportunity for a band 7 physiotherapist to join our dynamic paediatric musculoskeletal physiotherapy team within the Women and Children’s directorate.

We are looking for a physiotherapist with relevant clinical paediatric musculoskeletal experience to join our dynamic team. This post will provide opportunities to work within a wide variety of areas within a supportive team and take the lead on a specialist clinical area. This post is unique in that the caseload is varied and diverse including in patients, out patients and specialist clinics all within the field of paediatric musculoskeletal physiotherapy. Within the team we also input into 3 national services – burns, obstetric brachial plexus palsy and haemophilia. As a highly specialist paediatric physiotherapist this job will involve supervising and supporting less experienced members of the team. Our msk team are passionate about early intervention and service improvement and work closely with our colleagues in each of the specialities. There is also a strong focus on Research and Development/Quality improvement within the RHC Physiotherapy Service and support applications for poster presentations and speaking at external conferences.

Caseload

Our main inpatient caseload consists of trauma and elective orthopaedics and burns. We are also a major trauma centre for paediatrics.

You will also have the opportunity to cover a variety of clinics including fracture clinic, plastics trauma, burns management, haemophilia, obstetric brachial plexus palsy, acute knee clinic and rheumatology.

This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland check.

Evening on-call, weekend and public duties will be required – full training and support will be provided.
