Location and Role Details

General Adult Consultant Psychiatrist – Royal Edinburgh Hospital. This is a permanent, part-time post (24 hours per week, 6 PA) based in the Royal Edinburgh Hospital. The post is part-time (6 PA) and works with an established consultant and a team including two full-time consultants and two Specialist doctors in the Acute General Adult Inpatient wards. The post is supported by a full-time Specialty Doctor, a Core Trainee and an FY2 trainee.

Responsibilities and Team Context

Join an established team to support acute general adult inpatient care within the Royal Edinburgh Hospital. The post holder would work alongside 2 full-time consultants and 2 Specialist doctors, under the supervision of an established consultant. The department includes a full-time Specialty Doctor, a Core Trainee and an FY2 trainee.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register.
  • Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview.
  • Portfolio Pathway (formerly CESR) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded.
  • Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
