Overview Salary: £40,600 – £43,700 (depending on experience) + 6% performance bonus Working location: Maidstone area / Field Based Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent Job summary: As a Building Inspector, you will be a key member of our inspection service team, collaborating with registered builders to ensure homes meet NHBC Standards and Building Regulations, under your expert guidance. What you’ll be doing Based from home and out on site daily, you’ll work with registered builders to ensure new homes meet NHBC Standards, Building Regulations, and relevant legislation. You will build relationships with site managers to identify and prevent construction defects, helping manage insurance risk and creating quality homes for buyers. You will receive full training and ongoing support. You’ll have control over your diary and autonomy in your work. Your day starts when you leave home, and weekends off are standard to promote work/life balance. What we are looking for Relevant house-building or construction experience Strong communication skills to build rapport and credibility Ability to influence and handle disagreements assertively Analytical skills for decision-making support Understanding of house building processes and trade interactions Physical ability to visit sites and inspect buildings, including working at heights Interest in industry standards and continuous learning Focus on customer satisfaction and quality service Education and Qualifications Construction-related qualifications such as City and Guilds, HNC, HND, NVQ preferred or in progress Full Driving Licence required NHBC Building Safety Regulator Framework: NHBC supports technical staff registering with the Building Safety Regulator, providing training, development, and funding for assessment schemes and registration.
