This role is a strategic, hands‐on position reporting to the CEO in a multi‐studio, employee‐owned architecture firm. The successful candidate will lead the finance function, support strategic growth, business planning and operational excellence, and translate financial insight into clear, meaningful information for designers, project teams and leadership.

About the role:

  • Full‐time position
  • Locations: Manchester, Oxford, London, Birmingham (based 3/4 days per week in London, Oxford or Birmingham)
  • Reporting to the CEO
  • Leading and developing the finance team
  • Supporting strategic growth, business planning and operational excellence

Responsibilities:

  • Head the finance function across multiple studios.
  • Provide insight and analysis to support decision making by non‐financial colleagues.
  • Develop and manage financial strategy and planning.
  • Maintain financial integrity and compliance.
  • Drive operational excellence within finance.

Qualifications:

  • Senior finance experience in a professional services environment, ideally architecture, construction or built environment.
  • Strong communicator with collaboration skills.
  • Capability to present financial information clearly to non‐financial stakeholders.
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification desirable; exceptional experience considered.

Salary and benefits: £150,000 – £200,000 (base pay).

Location: London, Oxford or Birmingham (with 3/4 days per week based at one of the studios).
