NHB Recruitment works alongside a biotech company to find a Finance Manager. The role reports to the CFO and involves full ownership of day‑to‑day financial operations across the UK and US, delivering high‑quality reporting, insight, and scalable systems as the company moves toward product launch.

Overview

You will be the \”face of finance\” within the business, blending operational excellence with sharp commercial thinking in a fast‑moving start‑up environment.

What you’ll do

• Own UK & US financial operations and drive a fast, accurate month‑end close
• Produce insightful analysis and commentary for management and board reporting
• Streamline purchasing, invoicing, payments, and expenses to keep teams moving
• Support VAT, audits, payroll, cash management, FX, and year‑end processes
• Generate data for R&D tax credits and research grant claims
• Help migrate to a scalable ERP and bring finance capability in‑house

What we’re looking for

• 3+ years experience in a dynamic start‑up or scale‑up environment
• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
• Strong hands‑on accounting operations and reporting capability
• Enjoys improving systems, automating, and building for scale
