NGTC Group is based in Greater Manchester and delivers a wide range of security and event training programmes. Established in 2008, we specialise in Spectator Safety, Door Supervisor, and level 3–5 education.
Purpose of the role
The Close Protection Tutor will prepare students to achieve their close protection qualifications, ensuring they develop the necessary skills and knowledge for success.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct and deliver approved close protection courses with engaging teaching methods.
- Support students in acquiring required skills and provide guidance throughout their learning journey.
- Mark and evaluate examination papers, offer constructive feedback and assess readiness for qualification.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress and outcomes securely.
Essential Criteria For Candidates
- Recognised Assessor award (D32/33, A1, CAVA or TAQA).
- A recognised Teaching Award (PTLLS, AET or equivalent).
- Specialised qualifications for close protection training, including Level 3 Delivery of Conflict Management Training, Level 3 Award for Deliverers of Physical Intervention Training for Close Protection Operatives, and a current certificate from an approved Level 3 programme provider for close protection physical intervention.
- Experience and understanding of the private security industry or relevant sectors such as armed services, police service, security industry or prison service.
- Valid driving licence with access to a vehicle and flexibility in travel and working hours.

- In-depth knowledge and practical experience in close protection.
- Strong communication, mentoring and inspirational skills.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage course materials, student records and schedules.
Hours of Work
Approximately 37.5 hours per week, scheduled as required by course demands.
Place of Work
Principal location: Head Office, Hindley, Wigan (WN2 3AF) with occasional assignments at other premises.
