We have a great job opportunity at nGeneration for a Field Service Engineer / Field Support Technician. This role requires the ability to identify and fix hardware and software issues, as well as repair hardware devices. Excellent client interaction skills are essential. After completing induction training, you will visit customer sites to install, refurbish and maintain various technical equipment such as ePOS equipment, chip and pin devices, tablets, digital menu boards, media screens, kitchen management systems, routers, Wi‑Fi and other industry‑related IT equipment. You will also conduct site surveys and audits for clients to determine the requirements and specifications for installing or servicing retail/hospitality technical equipment and hardware.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct daily visits to client locations for break‑fix installation, refurbishment and maintenance of ePOS equipment, chip and pin devices, tablets, digital menu boards, media screens, kitchen management systems, routers, Wi‑Fi and other IT equipment.
- Travel to client sites to provide on‑site equipment swap‑out services, minimising downtime during the replacement process.
- Perform the setup of Wi‑Fi devices and identify faults with data network cables on‑site.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical, hardware or software issues during site visits, promptly escalating to the appropriate team when solutions are not immediately attainable.
- Ensure troubleshooting steps and actions are well documented and signed off by the client before completing the task at the site.
Travel: Harrow & surrounding area, with UK‑wide travel and overnight stays when required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1 year of IT support experience (preferred).
- 1 year of ePOS experience (preferred).
- UK Manual Driving Licence (required).
- Willingness to travel 100% (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience as an IT Technical Support Engineer, Network Engineer or Telecoms/Broadband Engineer, especially in the retail and/or hospitality industry, is highly desirable.
- Experience in IT Technical Support, Installations, Telecoms/Broadband Engineering or a similar environment where hardware devices are installed, supported and troubleshot.
LOCATION Harrow & surrounding area with additional UK‑wide travel required.
SALARY & BENEFITS £27,057 per annum (including On‑Call Supplement). Full‑Time, Permanent. Working Hours: 13‑Hour shifts, 3 Days on / 3 Days off rota basis (inclusive of weekends and bank holidays). Training opportunities. 28 days annual leave. Company van with air conditioning, car play, reversing camera and sensors, satellite navigation, DAB radio, and custom racking. Fuel card.
