The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.

We are looking for experienced Pipelayers to join our groundwork teams on sites across Greenwich. You will play a key role in the installation of drainage systems and underground pipework, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to specification. Drainage depth is approximately 2.5m and consists of clay and cast iron pipework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Laying and installing drainage pipes (clay, plastic and concrete) and working on drainage systems approximately 2.5m deep, including clay and cast iron.
  • Setting out and working to levels and falls from drawings and laser equipment.
  • Installing manholes, chambers and associated drainage structures.
  • Benching, concreting and surrounding pipework.
  • Carrying out deep drainage and trench work.
  • Ensuring correct alignment and gradient of pipelines.
  • Working closely with machine operators and groundwork teams.
  • Reading and interpreting drawings and technical specifications.
  • Maintaining high health & safety standards at all times.

Requirements

  • CSCS Skilled Worker Blue Card (essential).
  • Proven experience as a Pipelayer in drainage and groundworks.
  • Strong understanding of drainage systems, levels and gradients.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Good awareness of site health & safety practices.
  • Reliable, punctual and able to work well within a team.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Confined Space certification (required for connection into existing manholes).

Desirable

  • CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) tickets.
  • Confined Spaces Training.
  • Deep drainage experience.
  • Experience working with laser levels.
  • Dumper / Roller / Excavator tickets.
  • 5–10+ years of groundwork or pipelaying experience.
  • Established gangs or teams with proven ability to work together.
