We are seeking an experienced Site Manager - Transportation Infrastructure to take day-to-day responsibility for delivering transportation infrastructure projects across Bristol. You will oversee site operations, drive programme performance, and ensure the highest standards of health & safety, quality, and efficiency across highways and associated works.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily site operations, including supervision of Foremen, Engineers, plant, and labour.
- Coordinate delivery of transportation infrastructure works, including highways, roads, drainage, and associated utilities.
- Ensure all risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), briefings, and toolbox talks are carried out effectively.
- Drive programme delivery by planning and coordinating resources, plant, and materials to meet key milestones.
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders, representing the business professionally on site.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, particularly within live or public-facing environments.
- Manage subcontractors, ensuring performance aligns with programme, safety, and quality expectations.
- Monitor site progress and maintain accurate records, reports, and site documentation.
- Identify and mitigate risks, delays, and logistical challenges associated with transportation and traffic-sensitive projects.
- Complete company IT systems induction and training within the first 1–3 months.
Requirements
- 278 Works Experience a MUST.
- CITB SMSTS (5-Day).
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within transportation infrastructure, highways, or civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of highways works, drainage, traffic management, and public realm delivery.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Experience working in live environments with traffic and public interface considerations.
- Reliable, proactive, and solution-focused approach.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Experience managing multiple sites or phased highway/infrastructure projects.
