Role Overview

We are looking for experienced Groundworker Handymen to join our team on projects across Dover, carrying out a range of groundwork and general site duties including cavity filling, scaff mat installation, driveway construction, external drainage, oversite filling, and associated handyman tasks.

The successful candidate will have proven experience in both groundworks and general site maintenance, with the ability to support multiple trades and ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Please note: Due to site safety and face-fit requirements for respiratory protective equipment (RPE), all operatives must be clean shaven.

We have long-term work available, 10 hours paid per day, with competitive rates for suitable candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out cavity fill works in accordance with site specifications.
  • Install and position scaffolding mats safely and accurately.
  • Undertake oversite filling, levelling, and compaction works.
  • Assist with the construction of driveways, footpaths, and external hardstanding areas.
  • Install external drainage systems, including drainage runs, gullies, chambers, and associated components.
  • Excavate, backfill, and reinstate trenches as required.
  • Carry out general handyman duties across site.
  • Assist with site maintenance, snagging, and minor repairs.
  • Support site teams with material movement and general labouring duties.
  • Assist with ducting and service trench installations.
  • Work safely around live services and undertake hand digging where required.
  • Read and work from site drawings, levels, and supervisor instructions.
  • Maintain a safe, tidy, and compliant work area at all times.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to achieve programme deadlines and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Valid
  • CSCS Card

(or equivalent).

  • Proven experience in groundworks and general handyman duties.
  • Experience with cavity filling, scaff mat installation, oversite filling, and external drainage.
  • Experience in driveway construction and external finishing works.
  • Competent in using a range of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work from site drawings, levels, and instructions.
  • Confident working around live services and carrying out hand digging when required.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements on construction sites.
  • Must be clean shaven to comply with site face-fit and RPE requirements.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively within a team.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • CPCS/NPORS Forward Tipping Dumper.
  • CPCS/NPORS Ride-On Roller.
  • CAT & Genny qualification.
  • Street Works (NRSWA) qualification.
  • Safety Critical Medical.
  • Experience working on large residential housing developments.
