We are looking for skilled and experienced Excavator Operators to join our groundwork teams on a busy project in Kent. You will operate a 14T 360 tracked excavator across a range of groundwork and earthworks activities, with a particular focus on road formations and associated groundwork. The successful candidate will have previous experience working as part of a road formation gang and be confident working accurately to drawings, levels and specifications while maintaining high standards of safety and plant care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operating a 14T 360 tracked excavator safely and efficiently
- Carrying out road formation and earthworks as part of an established road formation gang
- Excavating and preparing sub-formation, capping layers and formation levels
- Topsoil stripping, bulk excavation and site preparation
- Placing, spreading and trimming Type 1, crushed materials and other aggregates
- Working accurately to levels, gradients, falls and profiles
- Supporting the construction and preparation of roads, access roads and hardstanding areas
- Experienced working around live services and in service avoidance techniques
- Carrying out daily pre-start plant safety inspections and maintenance checks
- Carrying out essential greasing and basic maintenance, keeping machines clean and tidy
REQUIREMENTS
- CPCS / NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) 360 Excavator*
- CPCS Lifting Ops / NPORS*
- Excavator as Crane Safety Critical Medical (site specific)
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well with other trades
- Right to work in the UK
- Proven experience operating a 14T excavator – ESSENTIAL
- Previous experience working as part of a road formation gang – ESSENTIAL
DESIRABLE
- GPS machine control experience
- CPCS / NPORS* Forward Tipping Dumper
- CPCS / NPORS* Ride-On Roller
- CPCS / NPORS* Telehandler
- CPCS / NPORS* Quick Hitch Attachment
- 5+ years of experience
