Freedom has an exciting opportunity for a Field Manager to support the delivery of New Connections work across the Northern Powergrid area. You will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of new electrical connection projects.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
- Oversee day-to-day operations for New Connections work, ensuring delivery to specification, on time, and within budget.
- Lead and support Supervisors, Planners, Engineers, and Site Operatives, promoting a strong safety and performance culture.
- Act as the main operational liaison with Northern Powergrid, strengthening client relationships.
- Champion safe working practices and ensure compliance with HSQE procedures and legal requirements.
- Manage several projects concurrently from planning through to energisation and handover.
- Allocate labour, plant, and materials effectively to meet programme demands.
- Monitor KPIs, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of documentation, RAMS, and as-built drawings.
- Engage with local authorities, subcontractors, and third parties to support smooth project delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
- Operational experience in cable installation, utilities, or power distribution.
- Knowledge of new connection processes within a regulated utility environment.
- Strong team leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent client and stakeholder relationship management.
- Good commercial awareness and contract understanding.
- IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable:
- Experience working on Northern Powergrid contracts.
- Streetworks knowledge.
- Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM).
