Maybe you’ll help save the environment in your own small way by being involved in the early work for a new wind farm or battery factory. As an Apprentice Electrician you will do all of the above. A typical day will be diverse, challenging and very rewarding.
We have exciting opportunities for enthusiastic people to join our experienced Engineering Team, where you can learn from the industry’s best. As an NG Bailey apprentice you will:
- Train at one of the top performing colleges or training providers in the country.
- Learn about our award-winning approach to working safely.
- Work indoors, outdoors, and occasionally at height.
- Be prepared for early starts and travel away from home when necessary.
- Develop great working relationships with some of the industry’s most talented people.
- Have a strong support network giving you the chance to build your confidence and use your initiative.
You will learn to:
- Install electrical services (e.g., wiring systems, lighting, sockets, fire alarms, emergency lighting & heating controls).
- Read and understand engineering drawings, wiring and circuit diagrams.
- Inspect and test electrical installations.
- Diagnose and rectify faults on a range of circuits and equipment.
- Use small hand tools such as hammers, saws, screwdrivers etc.
- Operate electrical tools such as chop saws, grinders, combi drills, impact drivers etc.
- Install the systems needed for wiring and cables such as brackets and containment.
- Lay, pull, and string cables.

You will attend college to complete the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Electrical Installation. In addition, you will regularly attend in house training and development as part of the programme.

- 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) Grade C/4 or above in English Language, Maths and Science.
Please note, to be eligible for an apprenticeship you:
- Must be able to complete the apprenticeship within the required time, including the End-Point Assessment.
- Must have a valid and eligible residency status and the right to work in England.
- Must be ordinarily resident in the UK or its territories for at least 3 years before starting the apprenticeship.
