Freedom Group are currently looking for a Commissioning Engineer to assist us with our SPEN Substation Electrical framework working on substations from LV to 132kV.
Reporting to the project managers, you will ensure that a planned, programmed, auditable and structured approach to the commissioning process is carried out to the highest standards, making sure the installed switchgear, transformers, relays, and protection schemes operate in accordance with the design intent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise onsite commissioning activities to ensure safe, compliant, and accurate testing is achieved.
- Write and Review Commissioning procedures and Safe System of Work for suitability of the activity.
- Prepare and Submit Commissioning Documentation for presentation to the Testing & Commissioning Panel for review and approval.
- Plan onsite commissioning activities including having an approved commissioning procedure, an approved Safe System of Work and co-ordination with other working parties including attending site planning meetings.
- Ensure the initial state of plant is as expected in the commissioning document.
- Successfully deliver pre-start briefing to entire working party including client witnesses for the commissioning with all parties fully understanding the testing requirements and their individual roles to achieve a safe and compliant commissioning activity.
- Achieve a safe and compliant commissioning activity.
- Ensure the commissioning documents and safe system of work is followed by all involved in the activity.
- Witness and close out commissioning activities through to gaining client acceptance.
- Report to project managers immediately when plant does not operate as expected or defects are found during the commissioning stage.
- Plan and arrange commissioning activities in accordance with the project programme.
- Liaise with the project managers or representatives.
Experience in the commissioning of Electrical switchgear and protection systems from 11,000 to 132,000 volts from manufacturers such as Schneider, Siemens, Ormazabal, Kolektor, Brush etc.
