Freedom Networks are currently recruiting Fitters/wireman to be part of a team undertaking asset replacement works supporting the upgrade and replacement of substation equipment in a manner that delivers safe, high workmanship quality and fit for purpose networks for our DNO customers, and which promotes the company in a positive light at all times.

The role is based across the Scotland Central Belt.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

  • Support with the replacement of plant/equipment along with associated multicores and earthing cables to make a fully operational scheme.
  • Progress to 'Authorised Person' status under our clients DNO Safety Rules, allowing the individual to:
  • a) have independent access to substations containing live exposed conductors,
  • b) receive a permit to work,
  • c) supervise a working party, and
  • d) work Live within C&P Panels.
  • Recognise best practices and promote innovation ideas.
  • Keep safe and maintain all company property issued, ensure it is routinely PAT or calibration tested and bring to the company's attention any items that are not of a serviceable nature in a timely manner.
  • Installation of containment, cabling, plant and small wiring within a substation environment.
  • What we’re looking for:

    • DNO HV fitting experience – Desirable.
    • Minimum of 2 years practical or craft skills experience using hand tools.
    • Basic operational knowledge of electrical or mechanical systems.
    • Site safety passport and/or experience of working on CDM sites.
    • Manual Handling.
    • DNO Authorisations to receive and cancel PTW – Desirable.
    • Full Driving Licence.
