Job Description
Construction Manager Location: London / South East (travel to London sites required)Full-time, PermanentCompetitive + Flexible Benefits
Freedom\’s Major Projects team has an exciting opportunity for a Construction Manager to take ownership of construction delivery for a major 132kV project, including substation and underground cable works.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
- Plan and oversee safe delivery of construction works in line with Freedom and client standards.
- Manage project construction programme and report progress.
- Implement quality management processes on site (ITPs, documentation, inspections).
- Interpret engineering drawings and resolve queries with project teams.
- Coordinate with Project Manager, Engineering, and Commercial teams to manage risks and issues.
- Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and maintain a strong health and safety culture.
- Motivate and manage Freedom and supply chain teams to deliver high-quality work.
- Resource planning and coordination for internal and external teams.
- Prepare and check key safety documentation (CPP, RAMS, permits).
What We\’re Looking For:
- Experience delivering EHV/HV construction schemes at 132/66kV (ICP, Private Networks, or DNO preferred).
- Civils or electrical bias with multi-discipline experience.
- SMSTS and appropriate CSCS/ECS card.
- CDM 2015 competency.
- IOSH and Streetworks NRSWA (desirable).
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
