We have an exciting new opportunity for a Construction Manager to join our team based in Bridgwater on the Agratas project. This is a permanent staff position with NG Bailey. It is full‑time and site‑based in Bridgwater. The role offers mobility and accommodation allowances for applicants based elsewhere.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate appropriate Health and Safety leadership to ensure that the safety first and foremost message is visible and alive throughout all activities.
- Lead the planning and utilisation of lifting labour.
- Coordinate the lifting management for each of the construction zones and emergent scope of work.
- Ensure the correct records are submitted to record progress and productivity.
- Ensure the lifting team remain disciplined with regard to productivity, time and attendance and adhering to the working arrangements.
- Own the delivery of the lookahead program and drive the performance of the construction team to ensure targets are met, issues are identified and resolved.
- Ensure that material take-offs and orders are accurately and timeously prepared to deliver the required programme and maximise productivity.
- Challenge the programme to maximise opportunity and mitigate risk.
- Ensure weekly & monthly reports are compiled and produced in a timely manner for upward review.
- Ensure by coordination with the superintendents there is sufficient resource to meet construction requirements available in line with the delivery schedule.
- Take responsibility for the coordination between the Principal Contractor and NG Bailey for builderswork holes through the fabric on the building.
- Collaborate with other PMs from other trades within a confined environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in Tier 1 Contracting and on major construction projects at a senior level in a similar role (Exposure to Temporary works and Modular Construction would be advantageous).
- Experience in creating Inspection & Testing plans with the contractor alongside conducting quality checks.
- Appointed person qualified and certified (CPCS blue card and ECITB Appointed Person TAP01).
- IOSH Managing Safely / SMSTS / SSSTS.
- NVQ Level 3 ACE card qualified in steel erecting / moving loads. Desirable but not essential.
