Are you a qualified finance professional looking for an opportunity to make a real commercial impact within a growing technology and infrastructure business? We are seeking a Finance Manager to join our IT Services Division on a fixed-term contract, supporting our Data Cabling business. Acting as the key Finance Business Partner to the Operational Director, you will play a critical role in driving financial performance, supporting operational decision-making, and ensuring robust financial control across a portfolio of projects and contracts. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, influencing stakeholders, and providing meaningful commercial insight.

Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:

  • Taking ownership of financial reporting and control for the Data Cabling business, partnering with operational, commercial and project management teams to deliver accurate forecasting, effective working capital management and timely financial information.
  • Business partnering with the Operational Director and senior management team to provide high-quality financial and non-financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Leading project and contract reviews with Project Managers and supporting with financial analysis to ensure accurate forecasting and cost-to-complete assessments.
  • Preparing monthly management accounts, including all month-end adjustments.
  • Producing rolling forecasts, year-end forecasts and detailed revenue and margin projections.
  • Challenging variances with Operations and monitoring margin improvement plans.
  • Managing balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Identifying and reporting business risks and opportunities.
  • Overseeing working capital reporting, including debtor plans and cashflow optimisation.
  • Attending monthly business review meetings with senior leadership team as the finance representative.
  • Supporting bids, tenders and commercial reviews, providing financial challenge and margin analysis.
  • Assisting with annual budgets, audits and year-end processes.
  • Driving process improvements through ERP and operational efficiencies.
  • Providing ad hoc reporting and financial analysis as required to improve business performance.
  • Partnering with divisional finance to improve reporting, governance, cash collection, and financial discipline.

What we’re looking for:

We are looking for a commercially focused finance professional who enjoys building strong relationships and influencing business performance. You will ideally have:

  • Fully qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a Finance Manager, Finance Business Partner or similar role.
  • Strong management accounting, forecasting and financial control experience.
  • Experience working in project-based, contract-led or services environments.
  • Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Confidence to challenge, influence and support non-finance stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.

Desirable Experience:

  • Strong commercial acumen and business partnering skills.
  • The ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights.
  • Experience working with operational teams to improve performance and profitability.
  • A collaborative approach and the confidence to work across multiple stakeholder groups.
