NG Bailey is looking for a talented Bid & Proposals Writer to join our growing proposals team in Leeds. Reporting to the Proposals Manager, you’ll play a key role in creating compelling, high-impact written content that supports successful bids for large-scale Mechanical and Electrical projects across the UK.
This is an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively across operational, bid, and capture teams, shaping winning submissions that clearly demonstrate our expertise, value, and understanding of client needs.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include:
- Lead the development of high-quality, persuasive bid and proposal content in line with APMP best practice
- Collaborate with bid managers, operational teams, and stakeholders to build winning strategies and solutions
- Translate technical and operational knowledge into clear, engaging written responses
- Facilitate content planning workshops to define messaging, structure, and storytelling for bids
- Produce a range of materials including: Tender responses and ITTs, Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs), Executive summaries, Case studies and CVs
- Conduct 1:1 interviews with Subject Matter Experts to extract key information
- Edit, review, and refine content to ensure clarity, consistency, and quality
- Provide peer reviews and bid writing coaching to colleagues
- Ensure all submissions align with company style guidelines and brand standards
- Maintain and develop a content library for future use
- Analyse competitor and market information to identify best practice and continuous improvement opportunities
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in bid writing, proposals, or tender submissions
- Strong English writing, editing, and storytelling skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and persuasively
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Knowledge of APMP best practice (or working towards accreditation) is desirable
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Confident facilitating workshops and interviewing stakeholders
- Professional, collaborative, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times
