Summary
Join Freedom Networks as an HV Fitter and play a key part in upgrading and replacing substation assets across the North West. You’ll work hands‑on with plant, equipment and cabling to deliver safe, high‑quality installations for our DNO customers — and help keep the region’s power network reliable and future‑ready.
Key Deliverables
- Install and replace substation plant and equipment, including multicores, earthing cables, containment, cabling and small wiring.
- Carry out core electrical fitter duties, including:
- Independent access to substations with live exposed conductors
- Receiving permits to work
- Supervising working parties
- Maintain high standards of safety, workmanship and compliance.
- Look after company tools and equipment, ensuring PAT/calibration requirements are met.
- Promote best practice and contribute ideas for improvement and innovation.
What we’re looking for
- At least 2 years’ hands‑on experience using hand tools in a practical or craft environment.
- Basic understanding of electrical or mechanical systems.
- Site safety passport and/or experience working on CDM sites.
- Manual handling awareness.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Work in or around High Voltage substations desirable
