Responsibilities
- Understand the role and purpose of BIM (Building Information Modelling) & CAD (Computer Aided Design) in the construction industry.
- Use the latest 3D modelling techniques to create virtual service systems.
- Understand how BIM is implemented throughout a project lifecycle.
- Create detailed drawings in a live model.
- Work closely with and build working relationships with a range of engineers.
- Coordinate a wide range of building systems and plants to pre-set detailed standards and spatial constraints.
- Able to identify risk activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours; extract reports and images for toolbox talks and site inductions using models and simulations.
- Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of the project; use models to demonstrate the reduction of waste to stakeholders.
- Assist in applying engineering principles by using established and emerging engineering technologies.
- Prepare simple commercial schedules and reports demonstrating digital workflows.
- Prepare initial design briefs, recommendations, programmes and detailed designs via a digital workflow considering design risks and responsibilities.
- Assist in the implementation of innovation, contributing to case studies that demonstrate value.
- Demonstrate good general IT skills and their application.
- Create simple construction simulations and logistic planning using a digital workflow.
- Assess and report on quality standards of the projects via the digital environment.
- Identify where the current role ties in to the construction industry and show how it integrates with other sectors/disciplines.
- Support the development of stakeholder engagement and carry out a stakeholder presentation, demonstrating appropriate presentation skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to move information from project delivery into commissioning and operation through involvement in the handover of digital assets.
Training & Apprenticeship
- Training schedule: you will train at one of the top performing colleges or training providers in the country.
- Level 3 Digital Engineering Technician Apprenticeship Standard.
- Block release at college.
- You will regularly attend in-house training and development as part of the programme.
Qualifications
- GCSE in English (grade C/4 or above).
- GCSE in Maths (grade C/4 or above).
- GCSE in Science (grade C/4 or above).
