We're looking for a highly organised and proactive Document Controller to join our project delivery team.

In this role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring project documentation is accurately controlled, managed and distributed throughout the lifecycle of major engineering and construction projects.

You will be responsible for maintaining document management systems, coordinating the flow of technical information, and ensuring all project documentation is processed in line with project, client and company requirements.

Working closely with project teams, clients, contractors and supply chain partners, you'll help ensure that the right information reaches the right people at the right time.

What we're looking for

  • Document Management
  • Own and maintain project document management systems, ensuring all information is accurately controlled and managed.
  • Manage the receipt, registration, distribution and storage of project documentation and drawings.
  • Upload, download, print, collate and distribute documents in accordance with client and project requirements.
  • Ensure all documentation is correctly tracked, monitored and maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support compliance with both internal procedures and external stakeholder requirements.
  • Stakeholder Coordination
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and project teams to ensure effective document control processes are maintained.
  • Support integration between company document management systems and external stakeholder platforms.
  • Build positive working relationships with internal and external project stakeholders.
  • Reporting & Project Support
  • Produce regular document control reports for project management teams.
  • Monitor and report on drawing status, technical submissions, RFIs and related project documentation.
  • Identify issues, trends and potential risks relating to document management activities.
  • Support project teams by providing accurate and timely information when required.
  • Administration
  • Provide professional administrative support to project teams.
  • Assist with project documentation, meeting preparation and general coordination activities.
  • Support efficient project delivery through organised and timely administration.
  • Information Security & Compliance
  • Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality across all project information.
  • Ensure documentation is stored securely and handled in line with company and project requirements.
  • Comply with information security, quality, health and safety procedures at all times.

Essential

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience working with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS).
  • Previous document control or administrative experience within a project environment.
  • Experience working in a customer-facing or stakeholder-focused role.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent).

Desirable

  • Experience within the construction, engineering or infrastructure sectors.
  • Knowledge of project documentation processes, including drawings, RFIs and technical submissions.
  • Experience working on large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Understanding of quality assurance and information security requirements.
