We are currently working with a successful and growing company based in Thirsk, which is looking to appoint an experienced and highly capable Finance Manager to take ownership of all financial operations across the business. This is a full or part-time (4 days) position, based onsite in Thirsk. You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial activity, including the finance team, and ensuring full compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the finance team in delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, offering clear financial guidance and support during decision-making.
- Champion a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement within the finance function.
- Own end-to-end financial data governance: ensure data consistency, accuracy, and timeliness across all reporting systems.
- Drive improvements in data management processes and tools to support more efficient and accurate reporting.
- Maintain oversight of key financial KPIs and ensure alignment with Group Finance requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison with Group Finance during a period of organisational change, ensuring transparent, timely, and accurate communication.
- Translate complex local financial information into concise, group-level insights.
- Proactively manage Group reporting timelines, queries, and deliverables to meet corporate standards.
- Support finance transformation initiatives, including systems migration, process redesign, or restructuring.
- Identify and mitigate risks during transitions; ensure business continuity and compliance throughout.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects that drive financial integration and alignment across the organisation.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 7-10 years in finance roles, with at least 3 years in a senior managerial position.
- Proven experience managing finances during periods of transformation or restructuring.
- Strong track record in managing teams, influencing stakeholders, and partnering with Group-level functions.
- Expertise in financial data governance, reporting systems and process improvement.
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills; ability to distil complex data into actionable insights.
- Strategic mindset with hands-on execution ability.
