We are working with a growing business seeking to strengthen its internal operations by introducing a dedicated Office Manager. This newly created role is designed to support the wider team, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day running of the office, strong administration, and reliable support across HR and operational functions. This is a great opportunity for a confident, proactive individual with experience in agriculture or construction, who enjoys variety and taking ownership.
Responsibilities
- Finance & Accounts Support: Credit control functions, customer reminders, escalation where required; support to the Finance function.
- HR Administration: Maintain up‑to‑date personnel records, training logs, compliance documentation; manage staff onboarding and offboarding, holiday tracking, absence management, policy administration; ensure confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
- Office Management: Oversee day‑to‑day office operations, manage stationery, supplies, equipment, liaising with external suppliers or contractors; support operational teams with general administrative tasks; champion good communication across departments, act as central information point; coordinate office meetings and minute‑taking; support Directors; provide holiday cover for the reception; deal with public/customer complaints.
Requirements & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar Office Manager role.
- Background in agriculture, construction, or a similar hands‑on sector.
- Confident communicator able to act as a primary contact for internal teams.
- Strong credit control/finance experience and comfortable chasing debt.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Proactive problem‑solving.
- High level of organisation, attention to detail, and ability to prioritise.
