An established and reputable accountancy practice based in Normanton is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join its growing team. This role would suit an individual with experience in preparing accounts who is looking to further develop their career within a supportive practice environment. While AAT qualification is desirable, it is not essential. Study support may be available for the right candidate.
The Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the preparation of accounts and providing assistance across a varied client portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Assisting with management accounts preparation
- Supporting VAT returns and general bookkeeping where required
- Liaising with clients to gather financial information
- Maintaining accurate financial records and working papers
- Supporting senior team members with ad hoc accounting duties
Candidate Requirements
- Experience in preparing accounts within an accountancy practice environment
- AAT qualified or studying (desirable but not essential)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good working knowledge of accounting software packages
- Strong IT and numeracy skills
- Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
