Are you an enthusiastic and confident writer who wants to be part of a talented national communications team which takes pride in having impact in everything it does? As a content editor, you will be responsible for sourcing, researching and creating various types of content for our online and print publications. Working within the agriculture publishing team, you will work with senior members of the team to plan, commission, write and sub-edit articles for our monthly flagship title, British Farmer & Grower magazine, as well as our highly respected website. You will be able to sub-edit copy, using an authentic voice that will resonate with our membership which includes a growing young farmer cohort receiving our Student Farmer magazine. You will be working across the business and will be comfortable helping colleagues simplify complex material, so it is easy to understand by our diverse member audience.
What you'll bring:
- A keen content creator who can produce must-read news and features about food and farming for our digital and print publications.
- A good understanding of content design, digital user experiences, search engine optimisation and web standards.
- A self-starter who can take technical information and make it relevant for our members in digital and print publications.
- A background in agriculture would be useful but it is not necessary as long as you are interested in the subject and are willing to learn.
- Comfortable multi-tasking, working to tight deadlines and changing priorities, while producing accurate and dynamic copy.
- Experience working with a CMS and software such as Adobe InDesign would be an advantage.
