As a Risk Pricing Consultant, youâll play a key role in developing and delivering an independent risk price across a defined product range, ensuring accurate risk cost, strong premium performance and clear insight into the drivers of cost inflation. Working closely with colleagues across the Pricing community, Claims, IT and Modelling, you will design and implement effective rating logic, build and refine risk pricing models, and support governance processes to maintain the highest levels of model quality and integrity.
Youâll also contribute to shaping product, underwriting and pricing decisions by providing robust technical input, monitoring regulatory and market forces, and helping to drive continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to operate at the heart of our pricing strategy, with visibility across senior stakeholders, involvement in innovative projects and the chance to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative and supportive environment.
About you
Youâre an experienced pricing professional with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear insights and recommendations. You communicate confidently with a range of stakeholders, building strong relationships and positively influencing thinking. Youâre comfortable challenging assumptions, simplifying complexity for others and adapting quickly in an evolving environment. You prioritise effectively, manage your time well and bring a proactive, solutions focused mindset. As a people centred leader with proven experience in managing and developing others, you foster growth and collaboration while consistently delivering work with precision and strong technical rigour.
You will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Significant experience in a general insurance pricing function with direct responsibility for pricing outputs
- Proficiency with pricing software (Emblem, Radar, R or similar)
- Extensive experience building and using risk pricing models and setting technical rates
- Strong data and trend analysis capability
- Prior experience in personal or commercial property lines and/or direct online channels would be desirable.
