Our Wholesale Broking and Outplacement team work with the open market to find solutions that keep customers protected, all while ensuring they continue to receive the personal, trusted NFU Mutual customer service they value.
As a Commercial Account Handler within our Wholesale Broking and Outplacement Services, youâll be part of a growing Corporate Sales team where youâll play a pivotal role in managing new business enquiries that drive our growth into specialist sectors across a broad range of commercial risks. These enquiries span everything from Property and Casualty to niche areas such as Marine Cargo, Freight Liability and Professional Indemnity. Using your broad technical knowledge youâll work closely with our Agents, suppliers and insurers to secure the right terms and deliver a seamless, professional customer service.
Your day will always be varied. Youâll engage with Agents across our Agency Network to understand customer needs, prepare and refine risk presentations, and negotiate with providers to secure optimal cover. Youâll also ensure policy accuracy, oversee mid-term adjustments, and support claims administration where needed. Building strong relationships is central to our success, and youâll play a key role in maintaining our outstanding retention rates and commitment to quality.

This role is based in our Tiddington Head Office, just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon. This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of âGood Reputeâ.
About you
Youâre an experienced Commercial Account Handler with a strong grasp of core commercial insurance products. Confident in managing a varied workload, you excel in new business environments and support customers across product lines such as Property, Casualty and Contractor All Risk. Additional knowledge in Group Personal Accident, Travel, Marine Cargo or Freight Liability would be a real advantage.
You naturally build strong relationships and communicate with clarity. You take pride in the accuracy of your work and enjoy solving customer challenges. With a sharp eye for detail and strong prioritisation skills, youâre comfortable making sound judgments in a fast-moving setting.
To succeed in this role, youâll also bring:
- The ability to assess complex or unusual risks, understand technical details, and develop tailored solutions.
- A passion for exploring non-standard insurance areas, including Marine Cargo, liability, financial risk, or specialty lines.
- Confidence in market-facing communicationsâliaising with insurers, interpreting their responses, and providing clear advice to Agents.
- Excellent time-management skills, with the flexibility and agility to handle a broad spectrum of work.
