You’ll sit at the heart of Claims, shaping how risk is identified, challenged and managed to protect customers, colleagues and the Mutual.
You’ll lead meaningful assurance activity, from audits to deep-dive reviews, influencing decisions and driving real improvements across claims operations.
Hybrid – Up to 80% homeworking available and 20% in Stratford-upon-Avon.
In this role, you’ll work as part of a specialist Claims Risk & Governance team, providing insight, assurance and challenge across claims activity. You’ll plan and carry out a range of audits, risk reviews and business-as-usual control testing to ensure risks, issues and actions are identified, recorded and managed in line with NFU Mutual’s governance standards. You’ll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders across Head Office Claims, regional teams, agents and suppliers, offering guidance, advice and constructive challenge on risk, controls and audit findings. You’ll also support business change activity by advising on risk identification and control design, ensuring the impact of change is properly considered. Alongside this, you’ll contribute to wider governance activity including incident management, business continuity planning and operational resilience, as well as producing clear, concise reporting to support senior decision-making. You’ll also support risk awareness across Claims through education, coaching and knowledge sharing.
You’ll bring a strong understanding of claims processes and risk management within the insurance industry, along with the confidence to analyse, challenge and influence. You’ll be comfortable working with data, systems and stakeholders, and motivated by improving controls, reducing risk and strengthening outcomes. You’ll demonstrate:
- Knowledge of risk identification and assessment techniques, audit methodology and end-to-end claims handling within an insurance environment
- Strong analytical capability, including data analysis and the use of MS Excel, with experience of risk management systems (Riskonnect desirable)
- Effective written and verbal communication, with the ability to present information clearly to different audiences
- A logical, detail-focused approach with the confidence to question, challenge and explore issues
- A solutions-focused mindset, inquisitiveness and learning agility, with the ability to work collaboratively and support others
