Well known locally, the agency has a loyal customer base and provides services to an attractive mix of farming and non-farming businesses. About You

Ready to be your own boss, you relish the opportunity to create business plans and implement strategies that provide a professional and personal service to a broad range of customers. An excellent communicator, you’re great with people from a wide range of backgrounds and can easily spot opportunities and develop new business. A strong and professional leader, you’re a confident influencer who’s used to motivating a team. Collaborative, positive and supportive, you know how to recruit, reward and develop a strong team to help you achieve your ambitions whilst ensuring all relevant regulations and standards of compliance are met. You may have knowledge of insurance or finance, but as our existing Agents come from a broad range of backgrounds, it’s more important that you know how to use your entrepreneurial flair and clear vision to grow your business.

NFU Scotland Group Secretary

NFU Scotland represents the voice of agriculture up to the highest levels. For more than 110 years, NFU Scotland and NFU Mutual have enjoyed a close relationship, working together to provide a first-class service to the farming and wider rural community. Combining your duties as a Group Secretary of NFUS with your work as an Agent of NFU Mutual, you’ll play a major role in the local farming community. You’ll be actively championing local farmers’ interests, arranging local meetings and events, recruiting and retaining members and keeping them up to date on union policy. The roles are intrinsically linked.

Rewards & Benefits

As a self-employed Partner and Agent of NFU Mutual, your earnings are based on the performance of the agency. However, this is a self-employed opportunity with a difference. Unlike most business ventures which demand start-up funding or venture buy-ins, our model requires zero upfront capital investment. In addition, as Senior Partner of the Laurencekirk agency you’ll benefit from:

  • A ready-made and loyal customer base with a renewal rate of 95%.
  • Uncapped earnings with projected income of £70k in year one. Your drive, vision and personal ambition are the only limit to future earnings potential.
  • Our commitment to set you up for success and help you along the way too. Whilst it’s your business to run, you’ll have access to a host of NFU Mutual support services including sales, marketing, financial planning and so much more.

This is a ‘best of both worlds’ opportunity, balancing the flexibility of self-employment with the backing of an already successful team and NFU Mutual, a hugely respected insurance business.
