Quality Assurance Consultant

  • About the role

    Joining our Wholesale Broking & Outplacement team, you’ll help ensure we place insurance efficiently and securely for NFU Mutual’s agency network—providing access to products and solutions the NFU Mutual don’t ordinarily offer and supporting customers across complex, specialist lines.

    In this dynamic role, you’ll be at the heart of our quality assurance efforts, conducting in-depth reviews that keep us aligned with industry standards and regulatory expectations. You’ll audit new business, renewal and mid-term adjustment cases, analyse case handler records for key insights, and spot trends that help shape smarter decisions.

    But that’s just the beginning. You’ll be the go-to expert for assessing risk and quality across the board, reporting monthly, quarterly and annually on our performance, and working closely with our operations and technical portfolio managers to drive continuous improvement. From thematic reviews to regulatory deep dives, your work will directly influence how we stay ahead of the curve, especially when it comes to FCA compliance.

    This role is hybrid, with regular time in Stratford‑upon‑Avon, typically three days working from home and two days in the office.

    This role falls under Insurance Distribution Directive requirements, and as a result, role holders will be required to demonstrate ongoing Continuous Professional Development in role, along with undergoing regular re-screening to show that they are of “Good Repute”.     About you

    You’re an experienced quality assurance professional from a commercial insurance environment (essential). You’re confident conducting audits and quality reviews and turning insights into action (essential). You balance technical depth with a collaborative, coaching mindset to raise standards and outcomes. You are knowledgeable about FCA frameworks and primarily ensure files comply with internal standards, affirming regulatory adherence.

    You’ll also bring:

  • Excellent communication skills, able to adapt well to learning styles and audiences when liaising through written and verbal communication methods
  • The ability to translate regulation into practical controls and coaching
  • Proven experience delivering training, coaching and constructive feedback that builds capability across teams
  • Stakeholder engagement and influence across multiple functions, with resilience and a continuous‑improvement mindset
  • Though not essential, holding relevant industry qualifications (e.g., CII Diploma/ACII/FCII) is highly desirable.
