About the role
We are looking for a talented IT Test Manager to join our Testing Service.
Based from Stratford-Upon-Avon, you will lead and direct testers to ensure delivery of a variety of Portfolio projects and programmes of work. This is a high-profile role within our function, where you will not only be producing testing strategies, planning resources, and creating reports, but mentoring members of the wider test team to overcome the variety of challenges that the company portfolio of programmes creates.
In this role you will:
- Lead, define and agree the testing strategy to ensure the quality and features of project deliverables are clear, agreed and communicated to all key stakeholders
- Discuss the varied level of test activities during the software development process to ensure that that the role of testing is fully understood
- Plan, structure, lead and monitor testing activity in line with the IT testing process and controls framework
- Design, establish and lead project test teams ensuring the appropriate resource level and skills are in place to enable testing in an efficient and cost-effective way
- Review and approve hardware, software, tooling, environments, and data requirements
- Manage test risks, issues, and the defect management process
- Contribute to the development of the testing controls framework, best practice, and standards to improve the consistency, efficiency, effectiveness and success of the function
About you
We are seeking an individual with the following experience and knowledge
Essential
- Strong team leadership experience
- Expertise in developing and implementing test strategy, test plans and test scripts
- Experience leading teams which could include multiple third parties
- Experience with all test disciplines and Test Tools
- ISTQB Advance Test Manager qualification
- Confidence working in an both waterfall and agile environments
- Strong stakeholder skills, able to represent the Testing Service at a senior level
- Degree level education (or equivalent industry experience)
Desirable
- Project Management or Development experience
- Experience of test management within the Financial Services sector

This is a Level 5 position which includes an annual bonus of up to 25%, private medical insurance cover and 28 days holiday.
