About the role
We are looking for a service driven, experienced manager who can lead and motivate the department, ensuring the IT service is supported, monitored and available to meet the needs of the business teams. This role will require you to lead multi-functional teams, have a detailed understanding of and be able to influence the IT service requirements for new and existing applications and services to ensure they meet both business & IT needs. You will be required to support the Financial Services department in launching its new application, managing an extensive suite of legacy applications, and undertaking a complex programme of decommissioning, migration, virtualisation, and upgrades.
Working within ITIL, IT controls and processes and following the SSDLC, you will be responsible for ensuring that our service meets both industry and internal standards, policies and guidelines, and be responsible for implementing an ethos of best practice and continuous improvement with the team. Proactive risk management of the underlying IT service elements and identifying emerging risks as new services are implemented.
The role includes reviewing and accepting new applications and changes into service which entails engagement and coordination across both IT and business teams, including management of 3rd party relationships and the matrix management of outsourced IT services and SaaS applications.
About you
You will ideally have:
- Extensive experience of leading multi-disciplinary IT development and support teams in an insurance, investments and pensions environment.
- Knowledge of relevant business and industry areas which relate to the IT services that are being supported
- Track record of successful IT Application related service delivery and improvements
- Demonstrable understanding and experience of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
- Significant experience of stakeholder management.
- Knowledge of project management methodologies and good commercial awareness.
