About the role
We have a great opportunity for an Investment Operations Team Leader here at NFU Mutual on a 12month FTC. Reporting to the Investment Operations Manager and having 3 direct reports, the main purpose of the role is to lead, manage & develop the investment administration team to deliver target service levels for transaction and cash processing, unit pricing and other financial reporting. This is to be done with consistently high standards of accuracy and customer service, all within internal and external governance requirements and reflecting best practice and integrity. Some key accountabilities will include:
- Lead, manage, motivate and develop direct reports, driving high performance and setting clear expectations, enabling the team to realise their potential and maximise their contribution to business objectives.
- In collaboration with the Investment Operations Manager, check and monitor the application of policies, procedures and processes to ensure the team know what is expected and are compliant with both NFUM and regulatory requirements.
- Manage, advise on and oversee reconciliations with custodians to ensure holdings are correct and outstanding items are resolved in a timely manner.
- Build and maintain internal and external business relationships to keep up-to-date with industry developments.
- Lead, manage and support the development and implementation of improvements and changes to processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and benefits are realised.
- Proactively identify, monitor and report on risks, issues, breaches and control weaknesses to ensure NFUM remains fully compliant with NFUM policies, regulatory legislation, industry codes and internal control requirements
What we're looking for
As our Investment Operations Team Leader, you will be the type of person who can easily build relationships with stakeholders at all levels- both internally and externally. You will naturally have leadership skills- being able to inspire and coach more junior members of the team. It would be great if you have an interest in investments too- having an understanding on how the basics work and the things that are involved. You will also be or have:
- Graduate level or equivalent professional qualification (desirable)
- An appropriate technical qualification e.g. Investment Operations Advanced Certificate (desirable)
- An Insurance/ Financial Services industry background or knowledge of investment operations (desirable)
- Experience of managing and influencing multiple stakeholders
- Great time management and delivery skills
- Experienced in leading and managing teams and organisational change.
- Working knowledge of MS Office with intermediate Excel skills.
- Experience of introducing change and continuous improvement.
- Experience of working in a customer facing role and delivery against SLAs.
- High level of accuracy with great attention to detail.

NFU Mutual are happy to offer its employees informal homeworking. Our team is located in Stratford-upon-Avon and it would be expected that on average, 50% of your working time would be located from this office, with the remaining days home based should you wish.
