About the role
We now have a great opportunity for an experienced Investment Office Specialist to join the Investments team within the Finance Division here at NFU Mutual. Reporting to the Product Specialist and working in a wider team of 7, the main purpose of the role is to provide specialist support to the Investment Office team across key areas of their work - which includes Strategic Asset Allocation of c£15bn of assets and product management including the maintenance of key investment documentation and product development.
Key responsibilities will include conducting detailed research and producing conclusions for discussion with senior managers in the Investment Office, on areas which include Investment market behaviour to support the choice of assumptions for Strategic Asset Allocation and to feed into discussions on Dynamic Asset Allocation, and also the risk characteristics and performance drivers of new asset classes and investment & economic trends that may influence future investment strategy. You will carry out modelling to support the Strategic Asset Allocation, including fully documenting processes, explaining and checking results and pro-actively identifying areas for improvement in either the process or models, along with implementation of any new or amended software solutions.
You will also support with the maintenance of key investment documents such as Investment mandates and assist with the production of customer facing literature relating to investment matters, resolving technical queries relating to these documents and the funds they support from both internal and external stakeholders. Providing the required investment inputs and knowledge for the development of offerings and communications by the Investment Propositions function, you will act as a link between the Investment Office and Propositions.

About you
As an Investment Office Specialist, you will have strong communication skills- being able to build relationships at all levels and be effective. You will also have a genuine passion for all thing’s investment related, keeping up to date with the latest trends and news. See below the other criteria needed or desired to be successful for the role:
- Degree in a numerate subject e.g. Economics, Finance, Maths, Physics etc.
- Holds or will work towards an appropriate professional qualification (CFA, FRM, FIA).
- Highly numerate with strong analytical skills.
- Investment related work experience.
- Good understanding of financial markets, both asset classes and products, and related systems.
- Understanding of Strategic Asset Allocation methodologies would be an advantage.
- Experience of working with Statistics.
- IT literate with comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Excel and Visual Basic an advantage.
