  • Hybrid working with up to 80% of your time from home.
  • Strong study support scheme including a mentor, study days and materials to support with your exams.
  • Work in a role where your skills are genuinely valued and appreciated across the business.

About the role

We have a fantastic opportunity for a graduate to join our actuarial team. As a recent graduate, we’ll give you the time and the tools to become a fully qualified Actuary. Whilst earning a competitive, full-time salary, we offer a generous support package, allowing graduates to complete all the actuarial exams. You’ll also gain valuable experience in a fantastic, corporate team, developing your professional skills in the process.

With opportunities to grow and develop your skills in a large organisation, you’ll have exposure to a wide range of stakeholders and the ability to influence strategic decision making. You’ll collect, check, and analyse data to allow it to be used in actuarial calculations. You’ll investigate anomalies and recommend amendments to stakeholders. Becoming an expert in your field, you’ll design, validate, and improve actuarial models and make recommendations to inform business decision making.

Over time, you’ll become a subject matter expert, meaning you will be able to design, plan and deliver effective communication (verbal and written reports) of the output from actuarial models in a manner that conveys the key risks and rewards involved, including to non-actuarial colleagues, to enable the business to make decisions in the interests of customers and the business.

In addition, you will also:

  • Understand and demonstrate the use and development of the process, theory and software underlying actuarial techniques.
  • Assist in the delivery of short term / one-off projects and activities as required by, and to the standards and outcomes agreed with, the relevant Line or Project Manager.
  • Demonstrate sound judgement through the application of your business knowledge to make recommendations and promote the continuous improvement of actuarial systems and processes
  • Be inquisitive and challenge existing processes/procedures, advising on alternative approaches - offering solutions to problems.
  • Build, internal and external relationships with stakeholders and committees to ensure effective delivery of the Group’s business objectives
