About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Finance Business Partner to join our Finance Division at NFUM Mutual on a 2 year fixed term contract. Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, the main purpose of the role is to support Finance Business Partnering and Planning across the group. This is to be done through the identification and extraction of accurate management information (MI) and analysis of data - to support business unit’s performance, planning and decision making in line with the Groups long term strategic objectives. Some key accountabilities will include:
- Partner, challenge and recommend practices, processes and technical solutions to ensure effective outcomes that are compliant with best practice
- Build and maintain relationships with internal customers, external suppliers and industry bodies to understand the business dynamics and ensure the effective delivery of objectives
- Facilitate and support the planning and reforecasting process, in collaboration with senior finance business partners and senior management to ensure robust financial plans are delivered, monitored and controlled
- Assist in the planning, implementation and delivery of financial and operational modelling tools, solutions, analysis, and reporting mechanisms, in order to support effective decision making and meet stakeholder requirements, adding value and delivering insight underpinned by robust controls within the governance framework
- Produce, develop, review, monitor and control high-quality financial reports, analysis and MI to track and challenge financial performance within the Group’s agreed targets
- Advise on and facilitate the implementation of continuous improvement within the Financial Planning and Analysis proposition, to enhance the customer experience and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the team
What we're looking for
As a Finance Business Partner, you’ll be a Financial professional with strong analysis and reporting skills gained from within a commercial environment. You’ll also be or have:
- Relevant degree or qualifications (e.g. ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or equivalent, or studying towards
- Strong analytical and data manipulation skills (especially using Excel) and a great attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong relationship skills and the ability to adapt your style to a range of stakeholders (including non-financial stakeholders)
- Experience of managing financial information and planning
- Knowledge of financial modelling, analysis, evaluation, and forecasting
- Experience managing multiple projects and tasks effectively.
- Thrive in a fast paced and dynamic working environment, using judgement and initiative to drive activity forwards.
- A dynamic and independent thinker with strong commercial acumen.
- Experience of establishing effective relationships and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong continuous improvement and change management skills,
- Able to prioritise own workload within tight deadlines.

NFU Mutual are happy to offer its employees informal homeworking. Our team is located in Stratford-upon-Avon and it would be expected that on average, 50% of your working time would be located from this office, with the remaining days home based should you wish.
