About the role
Are you looking to use your skills and experience, within a second line compliance assurance environment, to support fair outcomes for our customers? Do you want to add value to many different parts of the organisation and feel a huge sense of achievement in your role? If so, read on. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Conduct Regulation Assurance Team (part of NFU Mutual’s Group Compliance function). The role undertakes independent reviews that add value and provide assurance on the management of key regulatory conduct risks and customer outcomes to senior management and the Board. Some key accountabilities will include:
- Plan, perform and report second line assurance reviews across General Insurance, Financial Services and Investments functions to the standards and timescales agreed. Contribute to the delivery of the assurance plan alongside your colleagues and work with them on other reviews where needed. This role is crucial to the effective oversight by Senior Management, including the Board Risk Committee, of conduct risks and regulatory compliance.
- Identify, report upon and escalate via defined processes, actual and emerging risks, issues, poor customer outcomes and outstanding review actions - helping ensure there are ‘no surprises’.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships across the Group with key stakeholders to ensure reviews progress smoothly and on time, manage expectations in relation to the conduct regulation assurance process and promote an effective control environment which helps deliver fair customer outcomes.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of key areas of FCA regulation relevant to the Group, to ensure regulatory conduct risks are managed in line with the group risk framework (and any deviation from regulator expectations is identified if it occurs) – to help the organisation continue to deliver fair customer outcomes.
- Analyse, identify and prioritise regulatory conduct risks with a focus on current and future regulatory developments, in conjunction with Group Compliance Management, to contribute to the production of the rolling second line conduct assurance plan.
- Deliver short term/one off projects and activities as part of our overall efforts to support fair customer outcomes and ensure regulatory compliance.
