About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a diligent General Insurance professional to join our Mid Corporate and Estates team, The Mid Corporate team handle Commercial, Farm and Motor Trade policies over £35k and all Estate policies for renewals and mid-term adjustments. As part of the Commercial Underwriting department, we typically deal with the larger more complex renewals, alongside managing the entire existing Estate book. We believe that commercial business presents our biggest growth opportunity over the longer term and this is an opportunity to be an integral part of that growth.

Our NFU Mutual agencies are the vital day-to-day link with our customers and, as an Underwriter, you\’ll build strong relationships and work collaboratively with our Agents, resolving complex referrals and ensuring effective management of the insurance risk cost whilst delivering the right solution and service for our members.
We provide a comprehensive induction to the role and to make sure you get the most out of this, you will need to be able to commit to being in the office more frequently for the first 6 months. Following your induction, you will receive ongoing training which will support your career progression and personal growth.
Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday with shifts between the hours of 8am and 6pm.
About you
You’ll be a Commercial Underwriting professional with varied experience of complex and technical cases within a regulated environment including working within Authority.
You’ll be a resilient individual and able to demonstrate effective communication skills which will enable you to establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business, with the ability and confidence to challenge and influence where necessary.
