Salary - £23,000 - £28,000 (dependant on experience)
Full Time position, permanent contract
Location: South Cotswolds Agency – Initially working out of our Wotton-under-Edge or Chippenham site and moving to Sherston in 2026
Monday – Friday – 9am – 5pm

About the role
At NFU Mutual South Cotswolds Agency we are currently recruiting for a Trainee Commercial Insurance Sales Executive to work within our vibrant, enthusiastic, and ambitious team. As a Trainee Commercial Insurance Sales Executive, you will be supported through a structured development program to develop your sales and customer service skills, which will allow you to pro-actively seek out and research businesses within target non-farming commercial sectors in order to develop a sales pipeline of quality prospects sufficient to achieve new business targets.
You will learn how to review and identify the commercial insurance needs of prospects and advise on NFU Mutual insurance products, seeking opportunities to differentiate our offering to add value and win sustainable new business. This will include accompanying existing staff members on client visits. You will have a detailed Personal Development Plan to ensure you are performing in line with the agency’s expectation, but this will be adapted to a pace and style that suits you. Once your training is complete, you will be able to introduce the full range of NFU Mutual’s products including General Insurance, Financial Services and Risk Management.
This role will be made for you if you are passionate about working effectively within a team; handing over new clients to a truly customer focused team of Service, Claims and Account Management colleagues in the Agency, who will ensure that the new business you worked so hard to generate is well looked after and retained come renewal. You will be able to utilise the extensive training, support and resources available both within the Agency and wider NFU Mutual in order to develop an in-depth understanding of our target commercial sectors and the associated NFU Mutual insurance products.
