Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

About the role

An exciting opportunity has now arisen within the Bridgnorth Agency. As an Account Handler, you will play an important role in supporting the Agents with the day-to-day management and administration of customer accounts, while helping the Agency deliver the high standard of personal service for which NFU Mutual is known.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Assisting the Agents with managing customer accounts and providing day-to-day administrative support.
  • Preparing account information, correspondence, policy documents and other materials for customer meetings and reviews.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Handling customer enquiries by telephone, email and in person in a professional and helpful manner.
  • Supporting customers with new business, renewals and changes to their insurance policies.
  • Gathering accurate information to understand customers’ circumstances and insurance requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer records and ensuring account actions are completed promptly.
  • Liaising with customers, colleagues and relevant NFU Mutual teams on behalf of the Agents to help provide a smooth and responsive service.
  • Monitoring outstanding account actions, following up where required and helping the Agents manage priorities and deadlines.
  • Identifying opportunities to support customers with their wider insurance needs and referring enquiries to the appropriate colleague.
  • Following internal procedures, regulatory requirements and data protection standards at all times.

About you

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to support the Agents in managing multiple customer accounts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to record information accurately.
  • The ability to prioritise tasks, manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other office systems.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • A willingness to learn about NFU Mutual products, services and regulatory requirements.
  • GCSEs, or equivalent, in English and Maths are desirable.
