Assistant Pensions Manager (12 month FTC)
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Pensions Manager to join our Pensions team at NFU Mutual.
At NFU Mutual we know how important planning for the future can be – not only for our customers but for our own employees as well. NFU Mutual’s staff pension scheme is managed in‑house by a dedicated pensions function led by Melanie Arthur, Head of Reward and Pensions.
You’ll be supporting the Pensions Manager and leading a small team in the delivery of the effective management of NFU Mutual’s company pension arrangements for the Trustee Directors, Company and Scheme Members. The Scheme has both a defined benefit and defined contribution section, over £1bn assets held and over 10,000 members – strong technical knowledge will therefore be essential as you act as the subject‑matter expert for the Scheme.
Your duties will include the co‑ordination, production and review of Trustee meeting papers and meetings; supporting the Scheme’s sub‑committees such as the Information Security Steering Group and the DC Comms Group; managing, advising on and resolving escalated queries raised both internally and externally; monitoring, developing and maintaining the scheme’s business plan and risk log and plan; managing and reviewing pension scheme communications, working with external specialists where appropriate.
Using your excellent communication skills you will maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to assist in providing effective delivery of services to the pension scheme and monitor pensions training needs for internal stakeholders and provide training where needed.
Being part of the pensions team at NFU Mutual provides great opportunities to get involved in many different aspects of pension scheme management, working closely with the Trustee Board to drive forward the busy pension scheme business plan.
