An exciting opportunity has now arisen within the Canterbury and Sittingbourne Agency.
About the roleAs a Farming and Commercial Account Handler within our team, you’ll be working at the very heart of an expanding local business. Once trained, you will specialise in insurance and financial services and be able to provide exceptional customer service when handling new enquiries, alterations and renewals. Proactively maximising sales by both cross‑selling products to existing clients and generating new business, you’ll apply your excellent telephone manner to make the most of every prospect and promote the organisation at every turn.
The role will include servicing and renewing our existing book of farming and commercial customers, as well as securing new opportunities. You will provide technical advice to ensure our customers' insurance needs are met, along with identifying any gaps in cover and gaining cross‑selling opportunities. We also would expect you to exceed targets and promote the organisation at every turn.
As well as the above, you will also be assisting the NFU group secretaries with their union duties and NFU subscriptions. This will include attending NFU events and breakfast meetings on occasions.
About youThe successful candidate will be an enthusiastic individual, undertaking the ongoing responsibility and account management of our farming and commercial customers. We believe in taking the time to find products and services to meet our client’s needs, inspiring trust and building long‑term relationships by exceeding expectations.
You will be liaising with clients, agents and underwriters, therefore strong communication skills and a professional telephone manner are a must. Along with professional literacy skills, you will have good farming knowledge and be a highly organised individual with a positive and can‑do attitude. The role will require you to work from the office and to visit clients face to face at their businesses and farms. Previous experience of working within a similar role is desirable, but not essential due to training for the role being provided in‑house.
As a confident individual, you’ll consistently translate potential into revenue and will relish the challenge to drive growth of a truly customer‑focused local business.
