Senior Compliance Manager Salary c. £60k per annum Based in Wissington, Norfolk Contract type: Permanent Do you want to do something that makes a difference? You will fulfil a role that is unique, mandated by law and critical to the livelihoods of thousands of farmers in Great Britain. Intrigued? Well theres only one company in the UK that processes sugar beet; its called British Sugar plc. So even if a farmer believes theyre not being paid fairly for the quality of the product they deliver to the processor, theres nowhere else they can sell it. And that makes things tricky. Which is where the National Farmers Union comes in. We work with growers of sugar beet, and on their behalf, to ensure they are paid fairly for what they deliver – between 7-8 million tonnes each year. Thats a lot of beet, and a lot of money at stake. Which is why we have a team of 16 seasonal staff based in British Sugars four factories who monitor every load of sugar beet delivered and sampled, and monitor the analysis of those samples (which determines what growers are paid).
